Serving Suggestions

As you’re preparing for your Virtual Tasting, we recommend some steps to maximize the enjoyment of your wines during the tasting and for 2-3 days after you open the bottles.

  1. Once your shipment arrives, please open the box and check the bottles to ensure the corks are intact. Store in a cool corner of your home, whether in the bottom of a closet away from heat/light or in a wine refrigerator set to approximately 56 degrees.

  2. If your tasting is within 2-weeks, please stand the red wines upright so that any natural sediment in the bottle will settle at the bottom. Otherwise, resting the bottles on their side will work just fine for longer storage.

  3. We recommend you place your bottle of Chardonnay into the refrigerator 12-24+ hours in advance of the tasting. Remove from the refrigerator approximately 30 minutes prior to the tasting and open the bottle. You want the Chardonnay cool but not cold (approximately 55 degrees).

  4. Open your red wine bottles approximately 60-minutes prior to the Virtual Tasting to allow the wines to breathe. Decanting is optional and recommended 30 minutes in advance of the tasting.

  5. If your ambient room temperature is higher than 70, we recommend putting your red wine bottles into the refrigerator briefly (30-60 minutes) to cool them slightly. You want the red wines at approximately 65 degrees.

  6. Even if you open all of your bottles for the tasting, our wines will stay fresh for 2-3 days (sometimes longer) with the cork returned to the bottle. Timothy will be happy to answer any questions you might have about the longevity and ageability of our wines.
